God, our Father gave us clear and distinct instructions as to how we are to do His Will. This message is rather lengthy but very important to know. The way to a true relationship with our Father starts with His unchanging and clear directions that was taught also by Jesus is also found in the Old Testament in Isa. 58
" Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast. Shout aloud! Don't be timid. Tell my people Israel of their sins! Yet they act so pious! They come to the temple every day and seem delighted to learn all about me. They act like a righteous that would never abandon the laws of its God.
They ask me to take action on their behalf pretending they want to be near me.'We have fasted before you!'they say. Why aren't you impressed? We have been hard on ourselves,and you don't even notice it!'" I will tell you why" I respond "It's because you are fasting to please yourselves. Even when you fast, you keep oppressing your workers. What good is fasting when you keep on fighting and quarreling? This kind of fasting will never get you anywhere with me. You humble yourselves by going through the motions of penance, bowing your heads like reeds bending in the wind. You dress in burlap and cover yourselves with ashes. Is this what you call fasting?Do you think this will please the Lord?
NO, this is the kind of fasting I want. FREE WHOSE WHO ARE WRONGLY
IMPRISONED, LIGHTEN THE BURDEN OF THOSE WHO WORK FOR YOU. LET THE OPPRESSED GO FREE, AND REMOVE THE CHAINS THAT BIND PEOPLE. SHARE YOUR FOOD WITH HUNGRY, AND GIVE SHELTER TO THE HOMELESS. GIVE CLOTHES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM, AND DO NOT HIDE FROM RELATIVES WHO NEED YOUR HELP THEN YOUR SALVATION WILL COME LIKE THE DAWN, AND YOUR WOUNDS WILL QUICKLY HEAL. YOUR GODLINESS WILL LEAD YOU FORWARD, AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD WILL PROTECT YOU FROM BEHIND. THEN WHEN YOU CALL, THE LORD WILL ANSWER. 'YES, I AM HERE' HE WILL REPLY'.
REMOVE THE HEAVY Y0KE OF OPPRESSION . STOP POINTING YOUR FINGER AND SPREADING VICIOUS RUMORS! FEED THE HUNGRY, AND HELP THOSE IN TROUBLE. THEN YOUR LIGHT WILL SHINE OUR FROM THE DARKNESS, AND THE DARKNESS AROUND YOU WILL BE AS BRIGHT AS NOON THE LORD WILL GUIDE YOU CONTINUALLY, GIVING YOU WATER WHEN YOU ARE DRY AND RESTORING YOUR STRENGTH. YOU WILL BE LIKE A WELL-WATERED GARDEN, LIKE AN EVER FLOWING STREAM.
SOME OF YOU WILL REBUILD THE DESERTED RUINS OF YOUR CITIES. THEN YOU WILL BE KNOWN AS A RE-BUILDER OF WALLS AND A RESTORER OF HOMES.
Honor the Sabbath in every thing you do on that day, and don't follow your own desires or talk idly. Then the Lord will be your delight. You are what the Lord wanted us to be. Strong of faith, humble in life, helpful to those in need, dedicated to family, a servant to God's Word, a generous heart, a loving husband and father, and a wonderful friend. We want you to be here with us for years to come. We are nourished in spirit by your inspiring example. Your legacy is seen in the caring, dedicated, loving ministries of your children. I'm talking about Rick, Vince and Diane...whose hearts are joyful with the lessons you have taught them, thier tireless efforts to help the less fortunate, their passionate determination to do God's work, their love of family and their inherent GOODNESS...You did that Richard! Without your paternal wisdom guided by prayer and your steadfast faith, without your mentoring, spiritual nurturing and gentle hand, this world would have been a dark place. Thankfully, you have brought God's light to so many. There are thousands who have been touched by your spiritual leadership...that you have helped during your lifetime. You may never even know the totality of the souls you have brought to salvation through your words, your example and your prayers. Your grace in handling your current challenges are a continuing source of inspiration to each of us. We want you around a long, long time yet. We need you here, leading on the path of a life well lived. You have always been, and continue to be, a hero to us. You are our friend, you are a servant of God and you are a wonderful man.
